AI generated art series-- pictures of depictions of people interacting with boulders. The story of Sisyphus is a mythological king from ancient Greece. He didn't want to die and "cheated death" multiple times because he loved life so much (it's a good story), but eventually was caught by death and sentenced to a fate in Hades eternally pushing a boulder up a mountain. Albert Camus added on to the myth / story with an essay in 1942, in which he famously ends with the absurdist / existentialist call to life "One must imagine Sisyphus happy".
sisyphus.ai is a new AI art series (2022) showing pictures of people interacting with boulders. If one interpretation of the story is that to live, we must continually push the boulder of life (accepting or not accepting it), the boulder being our problems or "baggage", this series shows different people dealing with all their own situations and relationships to the "problem" or "struggle" of being alive. These are contemporary depictions of the myth made with new technology (in the nascent era of AI art).
